Super Hero Day

Today was Super Hero Day at the Children's Musuem. Allie is the proud owner of a new yellow cape. Nick enjoys it but this year Allie was really into it. Last year she was afraid of the Storm Troopers and talked about them for weeks and didn't ever want to go back there. This year she loved it and went up to them and shook their hands. I think she is going to be our super hero sci-fi finatic. I love her poses and all of the pictures. She plans on one day saving the world.

Spring Break

Spring Break for us has been very quiet. The weather hasn't been good at all. We spent a couple of days at home waiting for a roofer who never came. I think I minded it more then the kids they were happy staying at home playing with their toys. Nick did have a tooth pulled on Monday but I don't really think that counts as anything fun. The toothfairy did bring him $20.00 because he has had a lot of problems with this tooth. He hasn't complained at all about all the work he has had done on it the dentist finally decided to just pull it. I hope this will be the end of it but he is still complaing that his gums hurt and so I hope there will be nothing else wrong. On Wednesday they got to play with their cousins and have pictures taken. On Thursday we went swimming both of them had a lot of fun. It is a lot harder to keep track of two kids in the pool. On Friday Allie went to the library and got to hear one of her favorite singers sing even though she wasn't really into it and Nick got to have a playdate with a friend. He was so excited about it. We haven't really done to many playdates the last couple years and he has been really good about just playing with his sister. He had a lot of fun and I think they could have played video games the whole time. Having friends over is alot easier at 7 than it was when he was 4 and 5.

1st Reconciliation

Nick is preparing for his first communion this year and had his 1st reconciliation this last week. The picture is terrible because the camara I brought decided it didn't want to work. We took this one with the cell phone and I wish the quality of it was better. He wants to wear a white suit and I have been looking for one and have been unable to find one I still have a little bit of time.

March

March coming in like a loin. I don't think it will be going out like a lamb though. Nick with his Mardi Gras Mask that they made at school. Nick gave up his DSI for lent and is doing really well not playing it. Allie gave up candy for lent and is having a little harder time with it. I don't think Nick gave anything up for lent when he was her age and so I am being a little bit more lenient with her.

Preschool

We got to host preschool at our house last week. of . It was a lot of fun and Allie really enjoyed having some of her school friends over to her house.

Snow Day

Nick has waited all year for a snow day and he had one this year in November but we really didn't get enough snow that day to play outside so that didn't really count. We are probably one of the last people to get snow. His wish did come true though and we had a snow day a couple of weeks ago. It didn't last long at all. It's the kind of snow I like long enough for the kids to go out and play in it but is mostly melted by noon. He told me it was the best snow day ever but I think he had a lot more fun a few winters ago when we had about 2 feet of snow.
