Super Girl

The weather has been so nice lately that yesterday I really wanted to take some outside pictures before it started raining. Allie is so excited about Halloween this year. I did decide to buy her the store bought costume. I am not sure if I posted about that here but I was going to buy all the pieces seprate but saw the one at the store on sale. It was better quality than what I thought it would and cheaper and so I went with it.

Hello Stephanie

I think that you may be the only one reading this and so I just wanted to post and Thank you. I was having trouble editing my post yesterday but my pictures were uploading okay. I changed something on my settings and it is working better today but I still am having a few problems. You haven't updated your blog in a long time I would love to see pictures from Wild Life Safari. Well Thank you for reading my blog are you guys coming Kayla's party Saturday?

Camping Trip

At preschool Allie's classroom has been set up with a camping theme. Last week they made these adorable backpacks out of garbage sacks and ribbon and went on a hike. She has been talking about camping a lot and was so excited about going on a hike even though it was just to the playground I heard they found many things along the way. The pictures she drew are of a parrot and kangaroo and I can actually make out a parrot and kangaroo. Her drawings are getting better she defiantly is artistic. This week was the last week of the camping theme and so on Wednesday they got to make smores for the snack. She wanted to set up her tent in the family room and since we never got a chance to do it this summer I said to go ahead and do it. Nick has helped Scott put up the tent several times but was able to do it all by himself this time. I was very impressed. Both Allie and Nick were going to sleep in the tent but Allie wasn't quite ready and ended up sleeping in her bed. We haven't gone camping in awhile Nick has spent a couple of nights at Barton Park with Uncle Jon but as a family we haven't tried it since Allie came home. It would be so much easier with a trailer but maybe next summer we can try it.

Allie the Monster

What do you do on a rainy Saturday? Turn your sister into a scary monster.

Soccer

Alot of our evenings are being spent at soccer games. I have brought my camara to every game but haven't been taking many pictures. I need to try harder to get some better ones. He is really enjoying his season and has moved up to the next age bracket. He is the youngest on the team but is learning a lot. His team has won at least half of the games they played. We have had to sit out in the rain a few times though. I can't wait until basketball starts and we get to be indoors.

Dentist

Allie and Nick both went to the Dentist in August. If you remember Allie is not really a fan of the Dentist. This time though she did great and even let them take a x-ray and put fluoride on her teeth. Neither she or Nick had any cavities this time and so they got to be put in a the no cavity drawing. Well Allie's name got called and she won $30.00 gift card for Barnes and Noble and so she and I made a trip to Barnes and Noble while Nick was at school to buy some books. One of the books she picked out was Silverlicious we all ready own Pinkalicious and Purplecious and so I am sure we would have bought Silverlicious at some point. I thought the book was perfect because it was about the tooth fairy visiting Pinkalicious. She is now wanting to have a dentist birthday party which I think is kind of funny. I think I could probably pull it off though. We will have to wait in see if she changes her mind between now and then.

Oktoberfest

Last weekend we went to the Oktoberfest at Oak's Park. Allie loved the dancing and music and danced or was by the stage the whole time we were there. Nick has grown up on me. I am starting to wonder how much longer it will be that I can take pictures of him. He didn't want anything to do with the dancing. Where did my little German boy go I wish I could post some pictures on here of him when he was little but when I have tried before they don't seem to work. I think he would have liked to have gone out there but knew he was to old for it and so let his sister and cousins do the dancing for him. He did have fun visiting with everyone and coloring.

Back to School

I am now all caught up on the summer stuff and can now move on to the back to school. Allie's popcicle social for preschool and Nick's bring your school items back to school were on the same night and so we weren't able to stay long at either one. Both kids have both started school now Nick is now in the 3rd grade and is really enjoying school. I am a little bit emotional about him starting the 3rd grade it means he is growing up he is going to learn so much this year. Allie is enjoying school most days but didn't like it when they talked about germs and washing your hands. I think that she sees germs as a kind of monster and is afraid they will get her. We have lost sleep over it and so I am hoping she will get over her fear soon.

Swimming Pool

Auntie Jen had invited Nick and Allie over to swim in her swimming pool. Allie had no fear of the water at all and even jumped off the diving board no problem. Nick was a little bit more hesitant about jumping off the diving board but did eventually do it. He really enjoyed floating around in the floaty chairs.

Updated post The end of summer

It is all ready September and I have not even finished blogging about Summer. I feel like giving up on this blog. I just don't feel like working on it and have trouble finding time to work on it. I would like to keep it going for Nick and Allie so it can be a documented place for their memorize. I am going to try to catch up.

My blog has been acting up lately and it is driving me crazy and so I will post a separate post to go along with the two photo videos below.

In August we went to the beach for the day. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it this year. With Scott working two jobs we had trouble finding time for vacations this summer. We had decided we were going no matter what even though we realized that it was the weekend of Hood to Coast and was going to be very busy. It did take us almost an hour to find a place to park but other than that the day was perfect.

Both Nick and Allie enjoyed the beach and could have spent more time. I can remember a couple of years ago when Allie would not even put her feet in the sand. I had put a tea set away with the sand toys and Allie had the best time having a tea party in the sand. Nick loved everything about the beach especially the sand and ocean. I am so glad we were able to go even though it was just for the day.

The other video is just of pictures that I had taken this summer. Most of them have ended up on the blog any way but I wanted to put something together to remind us of all the fun things we had done this summer.
