The Birthday Girls
We celebrated my Mom's birthday last weekend. Allie is very excited because she know that now that Grandma's birthday is over with hers is only days away. We started the celebrating for Allie yesterday and will continue through next Sunday. Hope I can make it through a whole week. Scott and both kids have been sick I am hoping I don't come down with it now.
Where did the month of January go?
Where did the month of January go. It went by so fast. There were a few nice days in January and we all needed to spend sometime outside. Nick had Martin Luther King’s Day off from school and so we went outside and played with remote control cars and bubbles. Looking back to last years pictures the weather had been the same and we had gone outside to play with bubbles. So Martin Luther King’s Day must be a day to play with bubbles.

Tooth Fairy
The Tooth Fairy comes again. Nick lost his third tooth. It has been lose forever at least 3 months. We had gone out to lunch and for some reason we started talking about his teeth I think because he has a Dentist appointment coming up. I know it is in February but forgot to right down the day I will have to check on that. He said the tooth had not gotten any looser and so I said we might have to have the Dr. look at it and maybe pull it when we went to see him. Right after I said that he put his fingers in his mouth and said hey look it came out. It must have all ready been pretty loose. He is really good about going to the Dentist and has had to all ready have a lot of dental work done. Allie is another story I just hope she will let the Dentist check her teeth this time. The Tooth Fairy came that night and he received $2.00 and a book about the Tooth Fairy. What is the going rate for teeth these days? I know I probably only got a quarter.

Mary Poppins
Happy Birthday Grace.
Today was Nick and Allie’s cousin Grace Mary Poppins Birthday party. Her Mom did a great job I am sure Mary Poppins is not easy. It must be a movie that kids really like at 3 and 4 years old because I remember Nick being fascinated by it at this age and we had a very upset little girl at our last Saturday night because her Daddy told her she had to go to bed and she wanted to watch Mary Poppins. We all had a great time thank you for inviting us. Since Grace has now had her birthday Allie knows that her turn is coming up really soon and can not wait for her Mickey Mouse and Princess birthday party.

Akido
Allie loves going to watch Nick’s Akido class and the last few weeks Scott has taken both of them. Last week the Sensei had hit Nick in the neck with a ball and it knocked the wind out of him. He had gone in the room where Scott was to recover for a moment. Scott was trying to make sure he was okay and the next thing he new he heard a familiar voice out on the floor yelling at the Sensei telling him she needed to have a talk with him that it was not okay to hit her brother with a ball. The Sensei thought it was funny but Scott was embarrassed about it. She maybe little but she is not going to let anyone mess with her brother. That is her job.
Go Ducks!!
Monday was the big Oregon Duck football game. Nick is a huge Oregon Duck’s fan and Allie has realized that if her brother likes it it must be good and so was also excited about the game and wearing her new Oregon Duck shirt. Nick had a free dress day because of the game so he got to wear his new Oregon Duck jersey to school. Scott was out of town in Seattle for work and so Uncle Ben picked Nick up and took him to some friends house to watch the game with him. I wish they would have won but it was a very close game and I am sure Nick had a great time. Allie and I stayed home and watched the game and folded clothes with my Mom. Allie lasted for about half the game before I put her to bed.

OMSI and Sleepover
Last weekend was a busy weekend for Nick he had boy scouts on Friday evening and Saturday morning. We took him to OMSI Saturday afternoon they were having some special lego activities going on which he and Allie really enjoyed. I need to sign him up for more classes to take and try to take him there a little bit more often. Saturday night he got to spend the night at Uncle Ben’s house and sleep in the garage in a tent Uncle Jon also joined them. He was so excited about the sleep over and loved building lego’s with them and playing games.

Braids and hoping for a early spring
January has been a pretty slow month for us which has been nice after the last few months we have had. Since Fall and Christmas are finally over and I need something cheery I have been dressing Allie and a lot of bright colors or clothes that have flowers on them hoping that we will have a early spring. The picture of her in the pink shirt I braided her hair that day. It is the first time that I have put it in braids and it lasted for most of the day. I don’t think she was a huge fan of it but at least didn’t take them out.

January Update
I am so far behind on the blog again I will be lucky to update it seems like I will be lucky to update it once a month. Maybe I will try to post 365 post this year. It has been a rough January. I am so tired of rain and would like to see some sun again. I have finally started taking down Christmas decorations and am ready for it all to be down. Hopefully by tomorrow most of it will be put away.

Fashion of 2010
Allie started choosing some of her own outfits this year and made some interesting choices I wish I had taken more pictures then I did. Sunglasses have always been a favorite and she started 2010 off having to wear a pair almost everyday. We also had the princess dresses and other characters that we had to try out. Sometimes we just had to accessorize with a favorite hat or belt. We even had a pair of goggles that unfortunately ended up breaking that we wore for a couple of weeks. My two favorite were her monkey bathrobe and superman cape which we had to wear out in public on many occasions. 2011 has started out with having to wear her superman shirt everyday. At least she is a good character and wants to save the world and not a villain.
